Personally, I’m a really big fan of Rachel, and up until this day, I do not understand why she got voted off?

I love her personality, her quirky hairstyle, (which they later changed, but added a more sophisticated edge to her look) and most importantly, her singing. Her voice wasn’t the norm, and that’s what I believe the ‘X factor’ is, being different from the norm.

She was in the bottom two twice, until the third time when she was voted out. I rate her for still having a smile on her face. She is definitely a fighter.

The song she sang was Oasis ‘Stop crying your heart out’ which received positive feedback from the audience! I think she sang it amazingly, and even the judges, especially Louis Walsh thought it was a moving performance. So how does it all add up?

Simon Cowell went on to add his part in when choosing who to keep by saying, ‘You’ve been in the bottom two twice in a row, I think that’s saying something’ and decided to pass it to the audience. Ok, so I’ll be honest, I never picked up the phone to vote for Rachel, let alone anyone else, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t? And it’s obvious that people have been voting for her. But what I want to emphasise is that she. has. talent.

It really brings up the question, is X factor more of a popularity contest than a talent contest?
