Not just performers, The Hoosiers themselves create their own music. “We’re all really keen on writing” says drummer Alphonso Sharland.
For The Hoosiers, the creative process is an important part of their work. “I’ve always said I wouldn’t be in a band if I was just playing drums” said Sharland. Although they do love playing music in its own right, “it doesn’t feel the same unless you’ve had input and you’ve got involved.”
The band members contribute equally to the song writing, often getting competitive about whose songs to play, although their hit debut single Worried About Ray was a collaboration between all three band members. “We all write” Sharland says, “and whoever writes the best song wins!”
