Kaiser Chief talk
Channel: The Brits
The Kaiser Chiefs drummer and songwriter Nick Hodgson talks about the Brits and his musical tastes, while front man Ricky Wilson serenades Fun Lovin’ Criminal and t5m interviewer Huey Morgan…..
Nick Hodgosn says that as a child “I was into good music.” Reflecting the 1970’s and 1980’s, his parents brought him up on “Madness, Wings, Beatles… Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Eurythmics.”
Despite leading the field in creating new styles of rock music, he hasn’t lost his love for the work of previous generations. “I spent a couple of days listening to records” he says, speaking of his love for vinyl. “Elvis Costello, Adam and the Ants, The Clash and all this old stuff.”
Hodgson had a great time at the awards, and says that “Paul McCartney was the best bit.” He also loved that the band was able to perform, although “it would have been nice to win.” However, always optimistic, Hodgson says “it was all really good, I enjoyed it all.”
