Daniel Merriweather rates Rihanna (2008)

Daniel Merriweather talks about his early influences and current infatuations.

Merriweather’s R&B style was inspired from a young age, “the very first album I ever got was Cooleyhighharmony by Boyz II Men” he says. “To this day it’s one of my favourites.” He also credits the sensational R&B group with more than just pushing him towards his style, saying that listening to the album “taught me how to sing.”

Daniel Merriweather talks of his admiration for The Band, well respected in the music industry, saying that friend and colleague Mark Ronson steered him towards them.

Although having collaborated with Ronson and many other’s, Merriweather says that his collaboration of choice is singer Rihanna’s with The Klaxons on stage at The Brits. “She’s so beautiful and The Klaxons are one of my favourite bands,” adding “their collaboration is my favourite.”
