Here at t5m, we love a bit of conceputal, interactive art - which is why we so enjoyed this week’s ‘Professional Context’ exhibition from the incredibly talented students of the Sir John Cass department of art and design at London Metropolitan University.

The exhibition consisted of a series of portable pieces which the artists could show both in galleries and isolated places - which meant they had to fit into a suitcase; no mean feat when some exhibits included tables, elaborate costumes and hundreds of balloons.

The collection was a veritable hotbed of upcoming artistic talent - with such varied interpretations of the brief including a suit-clad ‘City Bomber’ with his manifesto in his suitcase, a ‘find the lady’ card game introduced by some ghoulish characters, and Distill photographer Stefanie Carthy’s holiday inspired project.

Making art accessible, lively and relevant - the ‘Professional Context’ exhibition was a real pleasure!
