London’s Cafe de Paris echoed with the sounds of the A-List last night, as the great and the good of British celeb-dom got together to raise money for children’s refugee charity ‘Hoping for Palestine’.
With guests including Kate Moss, Jamie Hince, Lily Allen, Will Young, Will Self, Sadie Frost and Jeremy Clarkson (and more - but we’d be here all night!) the evening’s festivities raised around half a million pounds for the worthwhile cause. And we can hardly say we are surprised - the evening opened with Lily Allen and Jamie Hince performing a ’sultry’ version of Dream A Little Dream, followed by Shane McGowan and Sam Taylor - Wood raising the roof with Fairytale of New York and Madness frontman Suggs impersonating none other than Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle. Guests bid for performances they enjoyed the most - and Lily and Jamie stole the show raising £48,350 with Will Self raising £12,000 and Will Young’s fat-suit routine bringing in £8,000.
But of course, it was Kate Moss who stole the show - taking to the stage with Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd’s Summertime as she writhed along the stage floor - proving herself the eternal rock goddess that we knew she was.
We assume our invitation to perform was lost in the post…?
