Wow, we can’t quite believe how hot Burberry is right now! Not only did creative director Christopher Bailey announce the brand’s return to London Fashion Week and unveil the swanky new London head-quarters, but then the mayor of New York made an honorary Burberry Day in Manhattan. And now it seems that Burberry mania has reached the palace! Bailey is to receive an MBE after being named in the Queen’s 2009 Birthday Honours List for services to the fashion industry and we couldn’t think of anyone better to receive the honour. At the helm of the label, Yorkshire-born Bailey managed to take back Burberry from its slow demise into the hands of D-list celebs and put it well and truly back on the high-fashion map. New Burberry girl Emma Watson and Brit fashion darling Alexa Chung will be expected to be among the A-list fashionistas on the front row of the London show this year, with Burberry expected to be THE hot ticket for Fashion Week’s 25th birthday celebrations.
