The Samsung Pink Ribbon High Tea played host to a variety of stars - including breast cancer survivor and presenter, Caroline Monk. Speaking to t5m, Caroline explains how it’s getting ‘crazy’ the amount of people she knows who are suffering, or have been affected by breast cancer, and how she is becoming increasingly alarmed by how young some patients are.
Urging young women to be as breast aware as older women, Caroline says the ideal opportunity to check your breasts, is either in the shower or when you’re putting on fake tan. She also describes her experience in getting diagnosed, and how her first doctor dismissed any idea that the lump in her breast could be cancerous as she was only thirty. However you only have to look at Kylie Minogue to understand that breast cancer can, and does, occur in young women.
