Essentially cinema and music is about drama and theatricality not much unlike fashion, its collaborations should applauded, not just seen as commercial value.
With the CD came a DVD which was a good way to show her off as an artist. Filmed in St Petersburgh, it was made by the young film maker, Tim Meara, who is also her boyfriend! The film consisted of interviews including one of Shostakovich’s widow, Erina Shostakovish and Ruth’s former teacher Dr. Felix Andrievsky.
Ruth tells us that it was very useful having her boyfriend on the film because he would cut out the parts where Ruth was making a “fool” of herself and put them together with other parts of the interview to make it sound like she was saying a coherent sentance.
