Ruth loves Beethoven, Mozart, and obviously Heifetz whose repertoire inspires her, she told t5m. And she also admits that it is the recordings of these composers that are inspiring, rather than the performances.

However, when Ruth was at a music course in France in 2003, she witnessed a performance that took her breath away. It was by a young violinist, a new name in classical music at the time, and he played Beethoven number 7.  She was due to perform Beethoven in two weeks and to top it all off, he was only 17. “He was really, really good”, Ruth admits!
