Admittedly only 11 when the revolution came in ‘89, Nemcova was fortuante enough not to have lived the majority of her life under the harsh reign of communism, where people were ‘imprisoned or were killed for their beliefs’.

Nemcova calmly talks about what it was like growing up for her and many of the things that we all tale for granted, were a luxury or did not exist for this Czech girl before communism fell. ‘I didn’t know about Stevie Wonder until five years ago, or Audrey Hepburn. I missed out on all these incredible things.’

Looks like she has some catching up to do.
