Pop Idol originator and Pussycat Dolls mentor top 2008 MMF Roll of Honour

Simon Fuller, the Pop Idol visionary and CEO of 19 Management (The Spice Girls) was among the highly acclaimed music executives to be heralded at the MMF’s 2008 annual awards dinner. On screen tributes from Prince Charles, Gordon Brown, Bono and David Beckham substantiated his achievements.

The MMF (Music Management Forum) is a worldwide network of professionals dedicated to delivering first class management services to the artistic community. t5m.com was there at the awards talking to key players about developments in the music industry and their unique experiences.

Fuller was presented with his award by Annie Lennox on an evening that included a performance by his self created star, Will Young. The night also championed the commitments of Ron Fair (President of Geffen Records and inspiration to artists ranging from The Black Eyed Peas to Christian Aguilera), Terry McBride (Fouding CEO of Nettwerk Management and the force behind Dido and The Stereophonics), and a co-founder and founding chairman of the MMF, Dennis Muirhead, who was inducted into the MMF Roll of Honour 2008, all of whom had plenty to say to t5m.

We were also privileged to hear some insights from the awards host, Paul Gambaccini - presenter of the Radio 1 US Chart Show for 18 years and co-author of The Guinness Book of Hit Singles; current MMF Chairman and management legend, Jazz Summers (Wham, Snow Patrol, The Verve); MMF CEO Jon Webster who founded the Mercury Music Award and co-created the “Now That’s What I Call Music” brand; and various other movers and shakers who help shape the music that warms our ears.
