Menswear isn’t an easy one to crack - if you stick to classics, you’re boring - but if you go too mad, no man will wear it. All hail Carolyn Massey then, who seems to have done the impossible with a fashion forward yet wearable a/w 09 collection that has both fashionisto’s and ‘man on the street’ equally impressed.

With her edgy tailoring and long length blazers, as well as a PVC hooded cape and the bow ties - Carolyn’s first solo collection at LFW was a thoroughly A+ effort.

So, a round of applause please for Ms. Massey who is the first fashion designer to be awarded the Reflect Forward Award 2009. As her prize, Carolyn now has a grant to go towards researching in the achives of museums of her choice - and, perhaps reflecting her military-influenced collections, Carolyn will be delving into the depths of The National Army Museum, Museum of London and The Museum of Eton Life, at Eton School.

Not only this but Carolyn’s entire a/w 09 collection will be on show, for free, at the Craft Central Head Office between 1st April - 25th April.
