VV Brown - renowned for her quirky and vintage inspired look has taken on the Global Cool challenge to work with stylist to the stars, Arabella Boyce to find the perfect outfit for when she’s at home writing music that is so hot, she’d turn her heating down to 18 degrees.

After much debate and decision making, Arabella and VV opted for an American Retro checked shirt dress in a vibrant ruby red with a black long wool ‘Cassi Wool’ cardigan from Reiss, with a peaked bobble hat from Barts for extra quirk and bad hair days…

The checked shirt is the perfect nod to this seasons boyfriend inspired trends, but with VV’s bare legs and the uber-feminine cardigan, she remains true to her form - all without a hessian sack in sight!

Adam Croasdell turns up the style, turns down the heat with Global Cool

Eastenders star Adam Croasdell has a first date, so to help ease away the stress and anxiety, we enlisted menswear designer PC Williams to style and reassure Adam into turning his heating down to 18 degrees.

PC bought along a selection of chunky knits which are ideal for a cosy night in with the heating down low…and Adam couldn’t have been more enthusiastic about the selection of goodies PC picked out for him - including chunky work boots, Reindeer emblazoned T Shirts and even a pair of duck egg blue trousers. Unfortunately, he didn’t share this enthusiasm for the floral print shirts!

The pair settled on the ultimate date outfit, a chunky cream cable knit 1979 Reiss jumper layered with a long sleeved crew t-shirt from Gap and a pair of Low rise slim body jeans from Calvin Klein. Now if that doesn’t impress his date, we’re not sure what will?

Stella Tennant turns up the style, turns down the heat with Global Cool

British model Stella Tennant heads up Global Cool’s latest campaign, ‘18 degrees of inspiration’ which aims to inspire fashionistas to turn their heating down to an environmentally friendly 18 degrees Celsius - not only saving cash, but also improving your health and even helping you lose weight.

Stella explains that heating within the home accounts for 30% of the average Brit’s carbon footprint, which is even more than cars which produce at 26.1%, and goes on to lay out the benefits of taking control of your home’s central heating. Figures show that for every one degree you turn your heating down, you could save up to £40 a year and go from burning 20 calories an hour to 80 calories an hour - all while you’re sleeping.

But of course, no one is suggesting you sit there freezing in your home, or even worse, wrap yourself up in sludge coloured fleeces and thermal underwear - which is why Global Cool have united some of the UKs most progressive, fashion forward stylists with the likes of Laura Bailey and VV Brown to create chic and on trend looks which are hot and warm.

Laura Bailey turns up the style, turns down the heat with Global Cool

As an international model, Laura Bailey spends a lot of time in hotels - whether she’s holding meetings, being interviewed or recovering from a hectic shoot. So, Global Cool sent stylist extraordinaire Grace Woodward to meet Laura at London’s The Bentley Hotel to put a look together that’s both fashion forward and warm enough to turn the thermostat down to 18 degrees.

As a model, Laura knows more than anyone the damage that central heating can cause to your skin - but she also shares Global Cool’s concern for the environment - so Grace went to work - pulling out everything from feathered shift dresses to super insulating bodies to create the perfect look.

The pair settled on a chic Whistles ‘Danni Zip’ biker dress, with a Cheap Monday scoop back white T-shirt for warmth and vital layering credentials; finished off with grey perfect fit matt Falke tights and a pair of black platform Sahara shoes from French Connection.

Leah and Jo Wood turn up the style, turn down the heat with Global Cool

One of Britain’s best loved mother / daughter outfits, Leah and Jo Wood, have called on the expertise of renowned stylist William Gilchrist to create the perfect looks for the launch of their upcoming, organic and sustainable pop up restaurant, Mrs. Paisley’s Lashings at their palatial Kingston mansion.

Laden down with soft fabrics, autumnal shades and some vertiginous heels, William remains loyal to the pairs individual looks - retaining Leah’s casual and relaxed chic and Jo’s Sixties hippy chick chic, whilst at the same time transforming them into the hosts with the most!

Leah opts for an Acne top with a plunging V neck, layered with an Unconditional merino wool kimono knit complete with dramatic sleeves, finished off with a pair of grey over the knee socks from ASOS and a pair of patent shoeboots inspired by Alexa Chung, also from ASOS.

Jo also went for a similar palette of soft, warm hues - in a grey long sleeved dress from ASOS and black Reiss Cassi Wool cardigan, a superwide elastic waist belt (also from ASOS) cinches in Jo’s waist to strengthen her silhouette and a pair of (faux) snakeskin shoes by Gaspard Yurkievich - a far cry from the sequins and feathers of Strictly Come Dancing…
