From humble origins, London Fashion Week has become one of the biggest events in the fashion calendar - famed for it’s mix of traditional labels and up and coming designers - as well as it’s fair share of A-List attendees!
And this September’s 25th anniversary was no different, with London welcoming back some it’s most famed designers - including Burberry and Matthew Williamson who have previously opted to show in other cities. Burberry particularly was a real highlight, closing London Fashion Week with an A-List guest list including Anna Wintour, Victoria Beckham and poster girl Emma Watson.
But, along with these global brands was a healthy mix of homegrown, emerging British talent - including the IT-girls label of choice, PPQ, who made London Fashion Week history by using a cast of only black models to show their sixties inspired collection, and Mark Fast, who also made headlines with his inclusion of plus sized models in his show.
With such an exciting mix of innovative new names alongside traditional labels with their refined heritage, London Fashion Week’s 25th anniversary truly was a showcase of the best of the British.
