Plenty of fashion news to get excited about this week! And it’s only Tuesday! We always love good model gossip and this week has exceeded our expectations: we have news offerings including Lara Stone, Giselle and Karolina Kurkova, as well as new baby face Georgia May Jagger. Aside from models and the campaigns they front, we love nothing more than a good fashion rumour. And about who better than Mrs B? And finally, to top it all we have all the fashion news from the ACE awards in New York – some of the fabulous outfits proved that accessories and celebrities are the perfect combination.First up: campaign news! Our favourite model of the moment, Lara Stone, has been signed up by Louis Vuitton for their spring 2010 campaign, replacing Madonna who has been the face of LV for two seasons. Surely only someone as ‘in’ as Ms Stone could replace Her Madjesty? Although Madonna was fab as the (rather acrobatic) poster girl for the brand, we think Lara Stone will produce some great shots for the French label.
In other model news, congratulations to Karolina Kurkova on the birth of her baby boy Tobin, who was born last Thursday. Bets on for when the model will walk the runway again, with her baby belly back to her pre-pregnancy abs. Another model-with-child, Giselle, is not content to sit on her backside while pregnant and instead has been taking helicopter pilot lessons, apparently in order to fly from her home in Boston to work in NYC. Hats off to the soon-to-be airborne model!
To wrap up model-watch, we can’t quite believe how good the Jagger genes are, after producing yet another beauty. Georgia May Jagger has been signed as the face of Rimmel London and the shots are beautiful – we are so jealous of those lips! [Elle UK]
The internet was a great place to browse this morning, what with all the pictures trickling in from Halloween weekend and, more excitingly, the ACE awards in New York, held last night. All the Hot Young Things in New York fashion were out to play. Our Brit favourite Agyness Deyn, looking great with her Twenties black bob and bold eye makeup, picked up an award on behalf of Christopher Bailey and Burberry, who deservedly won brand of the year. The legendary Diane von Furstenberg won the Accessory Visionary Award and was there to celebrate with everyone from Alexander Wang to Marc Jacobs. The best award of the evening, for Fashion Icon, went to every girl’s favourite muse – Barbie. Well who else could have won at an accessories awards ceremony? Especially since Christian Louboutin has created a pair of tiny red-soled shoes for her latest look.
Finally, we haven’t even managed to save our pennies for a VB dress yet (love those visible zips) but rumours are already circulating that Victoria Beckham will soon add accessories to the line. No details yet but watch this space…
