Tesco and British Red Cross
Channel: British Red Cross
Tesco has nominated the British Red Cross - Charity of the Year 2007.
Tesco have been very quick to respond and assist the British Red Cross in their emergency work around the UK, and were the first corporate organisation to make a donation to the Red Cross National Floods Appeal which raised £500,000 to help communities rebuild their lives after the flooding that occurred in the UK throughout last summer. In Gloucestershire, where up to 350,000 people lost their water supply, Red Cross volunteers distributed more than 23,000 litres of water, snacks, clothing and hygiene products all donated by Tesco
The Crisis care in your neighbourhood campaign is geared towards helping people at a local level, the money raised will directly benefit people in local communities and a key reason behind the British Red Cross in winning the Tesco Charity of the Year.
