What a man of fashion Sir Phillip Green has become. I first met him on his boat in the South of France about six years ago with Dr Sebagh.  He was completely uninterested in me and carried on talking on his telephone, just as my ex husband does. I liked his wife and thought he was incredibly rude. How wrong I was (and how right I am too).  In any case, I never thought that he would be the Champion of the Fashion World.  It’s not Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Vogue or Anna Wintour, but a  pugnacious wheeler dealer who waves the flag for this town.  I take my hat off to him: a man whose could easily afford to buy the whole of Sloane Street has instead celebrated the true point of fashion and made it egalitarian. Topshop has become the number one, most talked about destination in London.

This week, he flung open his doors to the girls about town, and we were so happy.  Kim Hersov, Harpers’ Editor at Large  and Amanda Sheppard, Bryan Ferry’s girlfriend, are among the stylists working for him.  This is perfect, as they both have huge enthusiasm and good taste.  There are so many clothes I wanted that I could have spent several hours just trying on things, but we were there for the opening of  Christopher Kane. I bought a very sexy pair of mesh platforms, which make my legs look like a million dollars, and a groovy sweat shirt jacket with studs.  Oh Sir Phillip, you have gone up in my estimation.  You know how to keep an extravagant blonde happy!

Last night, he was again holding court, this time at The Ivy. It was jam packed with fashionistas, and he even managed to get the dishy Bryan Ferry to play. My goodness, we are spoiled!  My eyes are now covered with rose tinted glasses, but please get off  your telephones. I want to talk to you.
