2003 Concert Highlights

On 29 November 2003 the first 46664 Event marked the beginning of annual music concerts in support of Nelson Mandela’s 46664 initiative - raising awareness for HIV/AIDS issue both in South Africa and the world.

The Cape Town performances ranged from stunning and powerful – in Beyonce, Bono and The Edge and Anastacia, to engaging and moving appearances by Peter Gabriel, Jimmy Cliff, Ms Dynamite and The Corrs.

Following the 2003 concert, three live CDs and a DVD titled “46664: The Event” were released, further contributing money and awareness towards the cause.

The fifth 46664 World AIDS Day concert will be hosted at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, South Africa on 1 December 2007. T5M will be there to capture exclusive footage and interviews with the stars of the event as well as those behind this important global and human rights issue as defined by the 46664 founder, Mr Nelson Mandela.

Global support for the 2007 event comes from a host of international artists including Peter Gabriel, Annie Lennox, Corinne Bailey Rae, Razorlight, Live, Ludacris, Goo Goo Dolls and Jamelia.
