On 29 November 2003 the first 46664 event marked the beginning of annual music concerts in support of Nelson Mandela’s 46664 initiative - raising awareness for HIV/AIDS issue both in South Africa and the world.

This short film documents the creation of the now world-famous event, including exclusive behind the scenes footage of Mr Mandela, concert creators and performing stars.

Witness The Corrs in rehearsal with Queen, Anastacia practicing her vocal range with the Soweto Gospel Choir, and Beyonce donning a winter jacket and slippers for her rehearsal of ‘Crazy In Love‘. Not to mention the intimate footage of Mr Mandela’s Thanksgiving dinner held in honour of the event and attending stars, including Oprah Winfrey and Bono rubbing shoulders with Ms Dynamite and Italian superstar Zucherro.

Following the 2003 concert, three live CDs and a DVD titled “46664: The Event” were released, further contributing money and awareness towards the cause.
